problem after nissen

Hi Everyone

I had my Nissen almost 2 years ago. After it everything was ok. I was able to eat almost everything. I tried to avoid red meet though, however a month ago i started to have problems, my doctor asked me to go through an endoscopy. Sadly my Nissen is possible not working properly because there are parts of my stomach coming up. I am very sad. Many goals I have are getting far away. My saliva is so salty and green and my mouth gets dried pretty often. Has anyone gone thru a similar situation?

Sorry to hear you're struggling with your wrap. It sounds as if your hernia repair has failed, and since that's what holds the wrap in place, your wrap isn't working properly.

I would wonder if you're also having some gallbladder problems, by your description of the saliva/reflux you're having.

I don't know where you live, but it seems to me that it's time to find a surgeon who is skilled in doing Nissen fundoplication repairs. It's a different, more complex version of the surgeon, so the one who did the actual procedure might not be the one you should have doing the redo. Researching the very best person to do the redo is extremely important.

Of course, you have lots of testing in your future, I'm sure. Somehow the repair of your hernia didn't hold for some reason or another. The only solution, I would think, is another surgery. Sorry it happened so quickly.
