jarenGood Afternoon. Among non-smokers, coughs are usually the result of an upper respiratory infection (such as acute bronchitis, the common cold, or the flu); postnasal drip, asthma, or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). These conditions are by far the most common causes of chronic cough.
One of your sx is a fever...........I would suggest you see your Dr. as you may have a bacterial infection or not ? AS far as your GERD - how are you treating it now? If your current tx is working, I would continue doing what works.
People that are ill need their rest. When you don’t get enough sleep, your body becomes weakened. Sleep is important to heal your body and keep it healthy enough to fight off diseases. When you close your eyes and enter dreamland, your body breathes a sigh of relief and begins working harder than ever. Cells repair during this time. Energy is built up, also. This is the time when your body prepares itself to make it through another day and all the demands thrown at it.
I wish you well,
Kitt
