Esophagal motility and nissan fundoplication

Today, I had a barium swallow but I had to eat a digestive biscuit . I know I have had swallowing problems due to gerd but the biscuit got stuck and even though I swallowed several times didn't go down. In the end, I washed it down so some water and it was fine. The radiologist advised to make sure I drank water with each meal, which I usually do.

I just wanted to know if anybody who has motility problems has had a nissan fundoplication and does it work for you.

I have had this problem for more than 2 years and it stemmed from a time when my stomach had bloating issues every time I ate anything and I had an immense pressure in my chest after eating and what I know now to be non acidic reflux. I also felt full after a couple of mouthfuls and lost 1.2 stone within a month and I had a terrible cough for a whole month. Although my problems now aren't as bad as the initial onset, I have gerd and a history of fundal gastritis together with swallowing issues and abdominal pressure .. I have had an endoscopy, ph/mannometry test and barium swallow twice in two years. I am waiting for my consultant to approve the operation .

I am sure that I have a hiatal hernia or due to the immense abdominal pressure some of my organs have migrated upwards or have become loose causing these swallowing problems.

Yes, I have had 2 manometry, the first was showing minimal swallowing problems and a year later the condition had worsened, but I go through phases of it bring ok. Physically, I don't feel like I have swallowing problems as I can pretty much eat most of the time . I know that my symptoms have been playing up recently as the tests last year showed minimal problems so I sure there is something loose inside which needs to be secured down and swallowing should resume ok

I dont think you can have a full NF with motility problems but they do partial ones. I remember some people on this board have had them with success.
