Would you do mamometry without the spray?

I have the mamometry and ph studies coming up in a couple of weeks. My ENT used the numbing spray for the basic small scope and I got a migraine that night.

They'll put the ph probe in after the mamometry, and if I throw-up that will ruin the test. So can I get through it without the spray, is it really that helpful? I don't want to set off another migraine.

I think if you can do without I would as I had bad migraine the first manometry/probe I had and as a result I wasn't as active whilst the 24 hr probe was in, which obviously isn't good as it doesn't give a true idea of what's actually happening. I've had a scope by ENT without the spray and to be honest it really wasn't that much different. I have also had a further manometry/ph with spray again and it didn't give me a migraine.. Migraine in my case may have been triggered by the stress of it all.

Thanks, I think i'll try to go without it and see how it goes. I expect it will be unpleasant either way.
