Hi Baza,

Could you please explain to me how 50% of your oesophagus is not working - is it the distal end?

Did you have a wide open sphincter, and how did they manage to do a partial wrap with only 50% of your oesophagus working?

Did they tell you what your DCI and amplitude was?

I'm in a bit of a pickle with my motility and reflux, and could use all the advice and information I can.

Hiya Pink, im sorry I didn't read into all my results when I was having my redo,i was so ill at the time and wasn't really focused on the details.
My first wrap was done as a floppy 360 degree for severe acid reflux due to a loose esophageal sphincter and poor response to ppis.
You have to take into consideration that when I was having manometry testing done I had a 360 degree wrap so I guess the results would not be as a normal person.
All I can say for sure is that as soon as the wrap was redone to 200 degrees I felt better so there was some sort of motility issues going on.
I wish I would have read the results now,because they where offered to me to read.

Hi Barry,

I don't think I can have a partial fundo and still eat, the reflux has damaged my oesophagus peristalsis so much, it may be a case if a fundo and a feeding tube.

I'm having discussions with my gastro on Friday and surgeon next week to look at all available options, I just know I cannot go on like this.

Hi,awh so sorry to hear that,i was told the same that years of reflux had damaged the peristalsis.
I wonder are there any other options available to you, Heller Myotomy or the new Endostim device maybe?
