No taste in the back of my throat

Hi Everyone,

about a week ago I noticed that I have no taste in the back of my throat..I can taste sweet and salty etc on the tip of my tongue but at the back there is no taste...I used Eno right about then when I had heartburn one night..

I went to the Dr yesterday and she seems to feel it is a symptom of acid reflux...but I hardly ever get heartburn so I just can't see it being that...The taste at first was bitter now it is just nothing..I have no dental issues,no chronic illnesses...on a few meds like BC pills and Synthroid,Ezetrol for cholesterol but that's it..I am fairly healthy at 46...

Dr. gave me a prescription for Prvecaid but I do not have chronic heartburn so I doubt this will work..she seems to think it will come back soon.didn't seen concerned..

How long can I expect my taste sense to be gone...will they ever come back,,Food is a drag with no taste..anyone else experience this?
