Ulcers in Small Bowel

Hi
I just had a small bowel capsule endoscopy done and it came back showing multiple (I think 10-15) ulcer's varying in size.
Is this common? My doc says its the beginning of IBD - he made this conclusion from results of blood work for IBD and also a recent colonoscopy which came back negative for IBD.
He has prescribed Apriso for 120 days. Is this treatment protocol standard?
Should I be worried about the Ulcer's developing into something bigger-tumor?

Oh gosh, please go visit the Crohn's forum.

Your GI's choice of Apriso for this condition seems misguided. This medication is meant to treat the colon. Pentasa might have been a better choice for the small bowel.

Since these ulcers were seen by a capsule, do you know where they are in the bowel? You should probably be having a small bowel follow through done, and/or an abdominal MRI.

Sounds like UC or crohn's (both IBD), sorry to hear.

It sounds like UC, you should visit that forum or the Crohn's forum. Sorry to hear that you are dealing with this diagnosis, but at least now you know and you can get treated. I have a few friends with these conditions and if you follow the rules, you hopefully will make progress in managing it.
