Burning throat all the time

I have had LPR for 9 months now. Anyone else have a burning throat ALL the time? Like I mean, most hours of the day? For me it's there the moment I wake up, until I go to sleep. Of course, it waxes and wanes in intensity, but really it's always there. I've done so many things to try and cope with it, but it never goes away completely. I know it's not stress-related, because it'll increase in intensity, if I'm just sitting around relaxing, chatting, watching videos, not eating/eating--it just strikes randomly.

All my GI tests came back normal. But I know it's acid, since I occasionally get heartburn with it. I can feel spurts of acid at the back of my throat too--it's an irritating liquid that bathes the back of my throat. Does this mean there's like a leak in my sphincter, which is continually letting small amounts of acid up into my throat?? Enough to irritate it big time, but not enough to detect it on tests, and therefore have any surgical interventions done.

Anyways just feel really alone with this. Wondering if anyone else shares similar symptoms?

You are same like me dear. I am suffering with this almost a year now. Like you said symptoms have improved a bit but not at a point where I could say I am fine. I underwent two endoscopes, 24 hour ph monitoring, bravo study all the results are normal and reflux is within the physiological limits beside of the facts most of these reflexes are coming in my throat. My Gastroentrology doctor refused any surgery option due to normal sphincter and pressure of it. There were many doctors in gastro who simply asked me learn to live with it and there is nothing special that we can do for you. This condition is like a living hell on earth. Net says it is LPr and put me on PPP and ranitidine for eight months, I got nothing at the end except to loose thirty pounds more weight. I also used alkaline water, tums gravies on uk with no improvement in condition. I think personally body would learn with the passage of time how to deal with this condition as my symptoms have improved somewhat with time. Still I have very red, angry sore throat that never goes away with any thing. Some time it look better little bit next time it's red again. I am busy in exam preparation now a days and would go for LPr testing on restec device that is more sensitive to detect acid in throat area.

No esophagitis.
Only thing that I learned from my reports is that I have abnormal number of reflexes I mean almost 83 reflexes per day where normal range is 73. But my gastro doctor was not concerned at all as this could happen due to transient les relaxation and because my refuxes were alkaline she asked me to stop taking all the PPi and other acid medicines. I still burn at various time of the day but intensity is less whatever I faced in begining.

I have a positive diagnosis of acid reflux in my throat, known as LPR. The constant burning sucks, and I've found that I can only lessen the pain, not eliminate it. The problem is that acid in the throat is the equivalent to a drop of acid in the eye...it only takes a drop for it to be painful. If you do have LPR, and ENT will be able to see an extreme amount of mucus and red/swollen throat. Good luck.

ENt already diagnosed me with LPR. thanks God, i have started getting better now if following the low acid diet for whole one year. It took me almost 12 months to get better. Still i have a lot of redness in my throat but i do feel a very less burning now. only thing that worked for me along with diet is to stop all ppi and ranitidine after 7 months of use on high doses. as my digestion came back in recent 4 to 5 months, i do feel less burning now. hopefully in coming 5---6 months my throat would be normal again.
