Hi everyone,
It has been a while since I last posted so I will quickly recap my history.
I first started experiencing Heartburn when I was 18 (now 37). It was on Zantac for a while and it helped clear things up but I found that lots of foods were causing the burning and I started to watch what I ate.
Things continued as such but I never lost my appetite or energy. When I hit 30, my digestive problems increased and I began to experience constant indigestion plus the acid reflux. I went through all the usual meds, Zantac, Nexium etc., nut nothing seemed to work. I lost about 20 lbs and spent thousands on natural remedies in an attempt to fix things but to no avail.
Eventually, my Doctor put me in touch with a Gastroenterologist who after his tests recommended a NF. He stated that within 6 months I would be back to eating normally and would have no issues.
Immediately after the surgery I developed IBS and would have to go to the bathroom for diarrhea like symptoms. This was really bad for the first 18 months and has since settled down a little bit. I lost all sensation of hunger for the first 12 months and even now do not experience the kind of hunger I had before surgery. My appetite is non-existent and I have lost 20 lbs since my surgery. The Dr’s cannot figure it out and have re-scoped me several times plus a colonoscopy. All the tests have been clear and show that the wrap is perfect.
My biggest issue is that even now I still getting a burning sensation in my stomach and it feels as though the acid is trying to come up. I am back on the Zanatc.
I have even tried to go gluten free to see if helped but I found that I was getting more acid. I am really confused and have no idea what to do. If anyone out there has any suggestions I would be grateful if you would share them with me. I am willing to try anything.
Thanks.
