Hi all
I started suffering with GERD about 3 years ago. Somehow a year ago my GERD pretty much disappeared overnight, I would have been relieved except it was replaced with stomach problems that have been plaguing me ever since.
Anyway for the last year reflux has pretty much not bothered me at all and since December my stomach had finally settled and I was feeling ok for the first time in a long while. I signed up for the gym, was being careful what I ate and finally getting some balanced nutrition, with zero heartburn and only mild stomach upset on occasion. I have no idea why or how it happened but somehow I'd got over it.
Until last Thursday, when I was at work I stood up to go for my lunchtime walk, I noticed I could feel my esophagus moving around as I walked, it felt very inflamed. Was very odd I thought, but I went and bought a sandwich then had some lunch. After eating the reflux started happening, and it hurt...a lot. Ever since then I have had pretty much non-stop heartburn, even when I don't have reflux my esophagus feels very inflamed and sensitive. I cant work out why I went from zero heartburn to this state of chronic pain again. Diet wise the only new things I had added were eggs and some fat digestive enzymes. I'm starting to think I have an egg allergy because I always seem to have some problems when I add them back into my diet, but maybe it's just coincidence. I was tested for esonophillic esophagitis a couple of years ago but was negative.
Anyway Im really down right now, the pain that I thought I'd been miraculously freed from is back and I'm now once again facing a lifetime of chronic pain :(
