nexium stopped so soon

I have battled this mess for two years and have taken every ppi they make. Three weeks ago I went back on Nexium because I could not tolerate the heartburn. Well, it went away immediately and has not come back....BUT....the other symptoms that went almost completely away....the belching, chest pain, gas!!, and regurgitating came back after 2 weeks. What gives? Why would it be almost magical for two weeks and then...BAM....just return? I can't fathom it. Any thoughts would be sooo appreciated.

Hi Hearty!

PPI's were basically originated with the thought that after a trial period of several weeks that the problem would be gone, and you would not have to continue taking it. Obviously it doesn't always work that way. Some people stay on med.'s a long time with no problems and some like us are unable to...
