Everyday is the same!!

I'm so sorry to hear you are still suffering. Trust me I know how you are feeling. I actually had a decent day the other day but these past two days it's as if my condition is back with vengeance. Constant feeling of something in my throat it really drives me crazy. I just want this nightmare to be over. I am praying my GI doc can convince my insurance to pay for my treatment, all my meds have been sitting behind the pharmacy counter.

It's great you are getting the endoscope. I hope you get the answers you need to start your road to recovery. This is a very depressing condition. Who would of thought? I always thought heartburn was the little annoyance that occurred after eating spicy chili, you know you pop a couple tums and go about your day. I will tell you one thing if I ever get to the point where I can be my old self and eat normal I will never take it for granted again.

Take heart! You are doing tests to find out what's wrong - and armed with that you can decide where to go next. I used to get really down as I felt my family and friends couldn't/didn't understand what it is like to think before you put anything in your mouth! Many nights sitting up with sore stomachs and worse! I found knowing what was wrong comforting, and I did something about it!

I have just had toupet fundoplication and hiatus hernia repair operation last week, and so far have not taken anything for my stomach since. I have suffered gerd for a number of years - but it got really bad in the past 2 years - was affecting my life to the point where I no longer had a social life, and decided to see what could be done that didn't mean take buckets of meds for the rest of my life. I am based in the UK - so the tests, although free through our health care system, were a long time in coming through - as was the operation. That's why I say take heart, see what can be done. I hope you find comfort soon.
