You will find foods that agree with you and foods that don't. Tomatoes are very acidic - and I found I could only tolerate a little fresh tomato - not any tomato based sauces or tinned tomatoes. I gave up all the know reflux triggers,alcohol, coffee, chocolate, pastries, fried foods, raw onions. I did however get away with eating cheese - which is a trigger for some people. I'm not sure if it would make your condition worse - but is it worth the discomfort?
