Yes you would think however I have read countless incidents of people who have a "small" hiatal hernia who have issues like me , I know one personally. I'm 28. I lifted something heavy back in October/November I think that caused my hernia. I've been having issues since. I think maybe the hernia aggravated whatever issues I may of had although I didn't really have horrible symptoms prior to that.
I also have severe scoliosis I don't know if that may be making things worse or not. Who knows it's all a guessing game anymore.
