Welcome to the forum.
We aren't doctors here, just patients who have been through a lot, so don't take our word as gospel and DO see a gastroenterologist for real answers.
IMO, Rebound should have been over after getting back on meds for 2 months, but by getting off the drug you may have allowed your disease/problem to get worse. I would get the testing, depending on what they want to do. The less invasive, the better.
Have you had endoscopy? Gastro docs like to do this first to see what's going on. It's not fun but not awful either.
If you're having reflux, an easy test, from the patient's point of view, is barium swallow. They tip you around after you swallow their chalk and take x-rays to see if you're refluxing in different positions. It will also show if you're swallowing correctly and whether you have ulcers.
Some of the other tests are really only helpful if you're considering surgery. Tests like pH testing aren't a lot of fun. There are several types of those.
You can't do this on your own. You have to see a gastroenterologist for your answers, no matter how much your symptoms may seem to be exactly like someone else's on a forum.
