Yes, I've had that "burning feeling" many times in the past, however, I no longer have that feeling anymore. Yes, your throat can heal but it's going to take several things:
a. Time to heal
b. Complete dietary change
c. Elevating your bed
It's imperative that you do not eat 4 to 5 hours before you go to bed and follow the conventional advice about diet when it comes to GERD, such as staying away from fatty foods, fried foods, spicy foods, staying away from caffeine in all forms, no alcohol, and focusing on low acidic foods for at least the first 30 to 60 days, depending on the severity of your symptoms.
I strongly recommend elevating your bed using wooden blocks or bed elevators from your local furniture store or Walmart. Elevate your bed between 5 and 7 inches (experiment with different heights) as this will help keep the acid from going up your throat.
Some people swear by drinking aloe vera juice or aloe vera gel daily to help them with their healing and drinking home made ginger tea and chamomile tea (homemade or organic only).
It's difficult to say how long you will have to do this because I don't know how long you've had these symptoms and how severe they are. But I would make these changes for at least 4 to 6 weeks at a minimum. And if your symptoms continue, I would go see a gastroenterologist.
