I have been dealing with the subject matters for 34+ years, having had many hospital visits, way too many serious bouts of violent vomiting, etc., which led to 3-4 major surgeries after every test imaginable and a nissonfundlplication that had to be redone two days later because of stitches being too tight hindering passage of any liquid whatsoever, and a couple of other hiatal-hernia surgeries, the last one which just about replaced my whole esophagus. Yet, here I am, years later still showing hospital diagnosis hernia present at tests I had last week for kidney infection/stones! I've been to numerous specialists and tried every medication and tricks there are to deal with this debilitating disease and just keep on dealing with the good days or the bad days, doing what's necessary to deal with everything. Out of all the meds available, I swear by Nexium as it works the best for me. It is both a healer and protector and many surgeons agree i'll need to be on it for the rest of my life. I have been on it years and because doctor's felt my high use of several pain medications after a bad job related accident 30++ years ago was cause of the stomach/esophagus issues, my costs were covered by comp for the medication. Since my prescription is for 2 -40 mil pills a day, once the fees changed and the costs of nexium is out of sight, it is no longer covered and even with our secondary insurance co-pays, the monthly cost exceeds $800.00!! Impossible for retired seniors on fixed incomes. I wanted help from the forum clients regarding this matter since this is a ongoing problem and I need to find another miracle drug to take t h e place of nexium-pills, that are affordable. At 76 additional surgery is out of the question. My experience is vastly and I can share more hints about dealing with this a n d acid reflux also so feel free to email me directly. I'm just about out of the nexium so finding a replacement is critical. All help or advice is grately appreciated. Thank you.
