Hello everyone,
As someone who has been suffering his second bout of gastritis and erosive esophagitis, I've long championed the use of a powerful blender to make smoothies because they are easier to digest and the nutrients are generally absorbed better.
I see some people pushing the Vitamix blender, which is a great machine and works extremely well, but at $400 plus for many of their models, it might be out of the reach for some people. I have found that the Healthmaster Blender, Nutribullet, and Ninja blenders are just as good as the Vitamix at only a fraction of the cost.
I've had my Healthmaster blender now for about 4 years and wouldn't dream of living without it. My brother no longer wanted his Vitamix blender, which is the only reason why I have one now.
Sometimes what causes our GERD symptoms aren't just certain trigger foods, but also food additives you might not be aware of. Using myself as an example, I found out that MSG really irritated my stomach and sulfites in red wine cause my esophagus to spasm.
Adding one to two vegetable / fruit smoothies a day has helped alleviate my symptoms.
