Has anyone else noticed that as their reflux has gotten worse they have started developing mouth ulcers? I would probably aim this question more at those with LPR. I know its possible to get dental decay from it, but I have noticed in the last few weeks that my mouth seems to always have ulcers. They are only small, like tiny cuts on my gums at the back of my mouth, and along the roof of my mouth, but there are a lot of them. Has anyone else experienced this from reflux?
I don't have LPR, but I do have a severe case of GERD. I used to get ulcers in my mouth and my GP doctor said it the cause could be many things. My first GI doctor thought it was reflux and advised me to elevate the head of my bed and change my diet.
Once I did those two things I stopped getting ulcers in my mouth. If you haven't done so, I would strongly recommend elevating the head of your bed at least 7 to 9 inches and seeing if that helps. This helps keep the stomach acid from going up into your esophagus and into your throat too.
