Esophageal Spasm- remedies?

I have been Diagnosed back in 2006 with Diffuse Esophageal Spasm-!

It acts up (and yes--I know GERD can exacerbate it )- I take a proton pump inhibitor (Zegrid)- for the GERD-

Anyway--every so often this darn Diffuese Esphageal Spasm (DES) acts up--feels like I swallowed a marble.

My gastro Dr- gave me an Rx--of Levsin (Hyosciamine 0.125 ) under my tongue-which only gives me a "so so" response.

Sometimes--I use Peppermint candy--(Peppermint oil..has antispasmodic effects)

Anyway.......................Does anyone here have DES--? -

AND..is there anything you take--that can help w these really disturbing "spasms"--??? Like I said--feels like a marble is stuck down there.
Any advice will be appreciated--Sometimes-there is a simple solution another has found-do get back--

I've been dealing with the spasms for years without relief. I finally changed my ENT and he put me on low dose Tramadol, which I then cut in half, take 2 x day as needed; it has helped me more than anything else.

It has stopped my constant coughing and reduced my esophageal pains significantly.

I only take it as needed and a normal months supply lasts me several months.

Not sure if it will help you, but you can ask your doctor.

Also, he told me when I first started on it that I will know within 30-40 minutes of the first dose if it will work, it stopped my constant hack cold.

I've been dealing with esophageal spasms for several years, though I'm not sure what a DES type of spasm is. My spasms haven't been specifically categorized yet by any doctor because I've been trying to deal with them naturally.

It took a lot of research, trial-and-error, but I finally figured out what was triggering my esophageal spams:

1. MSG
2. Alcohol
3. Over eating
4. Bad diet

Once I switched to an all natural food diet, stopped drinking alcohol and caffeine, my spasms stopped. Well, at least I haven't had once since June and this is the longest I've been without an esophageal spasm.

I also make sure I eat enough foods that have magnesium and other essential minerals. So I make sure I eat fish at least once a week, eat lots of green, leafy vegetables, and that I get at least 15-20 minutes of sun exposure a day since Vitamin D is an essential nutrient.
