I'm now 25 days post surgery and feel so much better! At day 20, I was really regretting having this surgery done! I went back to the surgeon due to the pain and dumping and he suggested that I needed a laxative. I thought he had lost his mind because I was already going so much but I tried it and believe it or not it worked. I still hurt if I eat too much but I know I need to watch that! I can pretty much eat what I want now too without choking as long as I take my time and chew very well. It still gets stuck sometimes but it goes down better. However, I have not tried crackers, crunchy dry stuff or tough meats yet. I'm kinda nervous on that one so I'm going to wait on that juicy steak.....LOL Other than that, I feel so much better! Don't get discouraged about
the surgery if you are needing it! It just takes time! Trust me, I did not think I would get better but I did!

Hi Tony, that is great news! What kind of surgery did you have?

That is great news. I am not far behind you and feeling great. I am still trying different food. Steak, chicken and tuna fish aren't working for me. Hamburger seems to be my best option. I still cannot eat much at a time though. Tonight I had one meatball (about
2 inches around), 3 not crunchy fries and 2 ounces of a vanilla shake and felt like I ate too much.
I am really happy to hear you are feeling soo much better!!

Peabs, I had the Nissan Fundoplication wrap. I also had some spots on my esophagus that were showing signs of erosion. The good thing now is I no longer have heart burn "gerd". Dairy bothers my stomach so I don't do much of that. I was doing gluten free before the surgery but it's so expensive! No alcohol for me either anymore but I do drink the caffeine.....LOL Tea no sodas! Kepp me posted on your progress!

Marthemar, Hamburger does me better too! I did try a pork chop today and I found that it was ok when hot but once it cooled a bit, it got stuck! I think I'll wait a bit before doing that again because it caused me to start hurting. I can't eat much at a time either. Yesterday i had a hamburger from Hwy 55 and I ate it a little at the time. I got it 3:30 and finished around 9 I think......LOL If I get to full I hurt! I'm glad your are progressing too! This is not an easy process of recovery! Keep me posted! :)

Great news... I am a few weeks ahead of you. Only have some sugar balance issues with my diet which I plan to take care of after my visit with the dietitian tomorrow. I can pretty much eat anything, but half of what I use too. I chew to a liquid consistency and take my time. My wife actually finishes our meals before me now. For me, the surgery was a success.

Pacificsky, everyone is different, I was so regretting having it done at fisrt but now I'm glad. Just listen to the doctor and lean on people here, it helps tremendously! Good luck, keep me posted! :)
