Hi BookRead,
Though every person is unique when it comes to GERD and dealing with PPIs. I have found for myself, the best natural solution to PPIs was to get at my root source of both my GERD and my esophagitis. In my specific case, it was poor diet, poor lifestyle, and drinking too much alcohol and caffeine products (coffee, energy drinks, and certain teas).
Proton Pump Inhibitors, according to many doctors (like Dr. Jamie Koufman and my new GI), are one of the most over-prescribed medications. One drug alone, Nexium, makes it's manufacturer well over 4 billion dollars in one year! They were originally designed to be taken for 2 weeks, then it was expanded that it was okay to take them for 4 weeks. And then in extreme cases 8 weeks. Somehow it's gotten to the point where some people have been taking them for years.
Anyway, I digress.....
Slippery Elm and Marshmallow Root never seemed to do much for me. The other ones you listed I haven't tried yet. Apple Cider Vinegar sent me to the urgent care room, so I don't touch the stuff anymore. It might help some people with GERD but I don't recommend it at all if you have gastritis or esophagitis, because it will probably jack you up.
A couple of slices of peeled organic apples usually helps me about
10-15 minutes after a meal. I have found camomille and ginger root teas to be helpful, though I keep ginger root tea to one mug at a time. For some reason if I drink more than that, my stomach doesn't like it. So I tend to drink one mug a day.
Certain steamed or boiled vegetables have been very helpful as well. Carrots, potatoes, and green beans have been my staple. I've also enjoyed baking yams and sweet potatoes.
I found this article from Dr. Jamie Koufman extremely helpful in maintaining a low acid diet:

For me sushi has been an absolute miracle lately. I will eat about
2 pieces of salmon sushi and 2 pieces of tuna sushi with a bowl of miso soup with no onions. No ginger and no wasabi. And nearly every time it calms my stomach and my esophagus down. I eat it twice a week now.
Sometimes standing up and walking around for 30 - 60 minutes helps too.
I have opted not to take PPIs for my condition to see if I can heal myself naturally with a very strict diet. It has been a tough road, but I am making slow progress. Which reminds me, I need to go buy some organic sauerkraut since I drink some of the juice after each meal.
I hope you start feeling better.
