You can try 20mg 2x a day instead, once before breakfast, once before dinner. Be sure to take it 30 minutes before a meal on an empty stomach, and eat some protein with the meal.
You could try a supplement called PepzinGI, it is very good for the stomach pain, take 2 capsules twice a day, before bed and mid morning worked best for me.
For times when the burning is bad, you can have Gaviscon or Tums which will hopefully help. Have you kept a food diary to see if you are eating any trigger foods? I found that really helpful as mundane things like rice were actually causing me stomach pain.
