Yes, I do. I was diagnosed with acute gastritis a month ago and was in so much pain I thought I was going to die. My gastroenterologist wanted me to take a high dose of Dexilant, but I refused.
I went through 3 weeks of pain and discomfort and only ate small pieces of bananas, homemade applesauce, potato soup, and potato-carrot soup. I ate very small meals every 2-3 hours, slept in an elevated position, and only drank filtered water, alkaline water, and chamomile tea.
The first two weeks were the toughest because I felt pain no matter what I ate. Finally, after a month on this very strict diet, Im finally starting to feel better. I added beans to my diet and as long as I eat them in small amounts, I'm ok.
I'm still in constant pain, but it's about half of what it used to be, so it's managable now. I have many more months of recovery to go. I just need to make sure I stick to this soft food diet, avoid over eating, avoid all trigger foods, and stay away from all processed foods and drinks.
The biggest thing that has worked for during this trying time has been keeping my diet simple and nutritious and resisting all temptations, so I've only been eating home cooked meals.
