Why does my bravo test show a significant number of symptoms reported not linked to reflux?

I finally got my bravo test results back from the lab but haven't spoken to the surgeon about them yet. It shows I definitely have GERD but that my medication is controlling the acid (though maybe not the regurgitation). The thing that is interesting is it shows a large number of the symptoms I reported weren't connected with reflux episodes. Yet I obviously thought they were. For example I reported 200 episodes of regurgitation but only 50 of them were real regurgitation. The margin is a bit lower for heartburn but there are still more that weren't connected to actual reflux. Does anyone know what this could mean? Could there be something else wrong with me as well?

How could a Bravo test show that meds are controlling acid? Were you on your meds when you had the test?

The meds are supposed to reduce acid, but they don't control regurg at all. They just put the little acid pumps to sleep. Controlling things coming back up is what the surgery does. Alternatives possibility: I was able to get rid of my regurgitation episodes by avoiding my "trigger foods." It's just a slim possibility, but check the search box for that. I still needed the surgery because my LES was wide open.

I don't know what you were reporting. Maybe you were just feeling esophageal contractions. Have you had other fun tests?

I had a 96 hour bravo study done. The first 48 hours I was off my meds and the second 48 hours I was on them.

Yeah I've had all the other fun tests about from the tube down your nose whilst you eat (I can't remember what's that's called) that lasts about 20 minutes. To be honest I think I was regurgitating just not acid. But I get confused how that is different to reflux?

I know if I avoid trigger foods in fine but I struggle with my self motivation to avoid chocolate and tomato!

I do wonder if I have hypersensitivity or functional dyspepsia though? If so then the surgery won't help that much
