I think the endoscopy is done to see if there is a physical obstruction that makes swallowing difficult-for example a narrow esophagus. If that does not show anything pertaining to this difficulty you can ask for a swallowing study . You have to drink small sips of barium and under xray the speech therapist can see if there are any muscle problems in your mouth or throat. It is considered a nuclear test. I had one done recently, it's a piece of cake:) Nothing to worry about.
