hang in there, this is a tricky recovery, a lot of sideways, some backwards, and baby steps forward. that being said. i had a large hernia. about a 1/3 of my stomach in my chest, with no re flux what so ever. my early symptoms, were random shortness of breath, which got worse overtime, as well as the hernia got larger, i developed pain and pressure, in my chest, that became quite pronounced. now 8 months latter, i still experience, some pain and pressure, not near as bad, but still prevalent. i have been told, by my surgeon, that there are, post surgical changes, that i will have to get used, the so called new normal. due to the cutting and freeing of the stomach. eating will get easier, but will take awhile. you need to stay hydrated, chew your food very well, and do not overeat, or you will learn, a very painful lesson. you will improve, it is going to take time.
