Paying for procedures abroad (e.g. Endostim)

Hi,

Thanks to the awesome people on this board, I found out about the Endostim procedure and am working on having it done. I've been in contact via email with a German doctor recommended by the Endostim folks and for him the payment is up front. Considering it's 15k euros and I've only talked with the guy over email, I was wondering if there was a safer way to transfer the money besides bank transfer. One option seems to be escrow.com.

Anyone had procedures abroad and run into this problem of transferring the money? How did you solve it?

I used the doctor in Frankfurt and am a success story, he was great. (I have doctor's permission to mention the name on the post, Prof. Dr. med. K.-H. Fuchs, in Frankfurt, Germany.)
I paid by credit card. (I have one with out a 3% exchange are penalty.) CC's are the easiest way to pay, and I paid on admittance.
I assume by now you have had the surgery, and am curious as to your results.
