Hi. This is my first post on this forum!
Im due to have a Laproscopic Nissed Fundoplication on Friday Oct 7th. I have been put on a liver shrinkage diet for 2 weeks. Week one was tough at times with no dairy, bread, biscuits etc. I stuck to it like glue and at the end of the first week, I had lost........................Nothin!!!
I rang the dietitian who was surprised but has now put me on 'Milk and Yoghurt for the remaining days. Its 2 pints of semi-skimmed milk and between 4 and 6 yogurts a day, depending on their calorific value. I have to stay as close to 500 cals a day as possible.
As well as a long history of GERD and 4cm sliding Hiatus Hernia, I also suffer from Fibromyalgia.
I am unable to exercise at all at the moment due to GERD and Im also on Tramadol and Amyltriptaline which I know puts weight on which is hard to shift.
I have gone from a healthy, busy, slim person to an overweight ( only by 2 stone) person who is unable to eat out or even go out without ending up in pain and dry vomiting :(
Has anyone else had these problems.
Im having my surgery done Privately, as in the Midlands there is a 42 week waiting list and I just cant wait that long. Ive been almost housebound for months.
I am hoping the surgeon will still operate even if my weight loss is minimal.....
