Question about Barrett's Esophagus and Hiatul Hernia

Hello,

I am a 37 year old male who was diagnosed with Barret's Esophagus and Hiatul Hernia. My questions are the following:

1. Can a Hiatual Hernia, especially one caused by Obesity be cured?

2. Can Barret's Esophagus ever be cured or reversed?

Hi Trader,

As Alcie said, both can be fixed. The hernia is only fixable via surgery. If you get your reflux issues under control, the Barretts can be reversed as well. I had a significant ring of Barretts prior to my fundoplication surgery. A year after surgery, a recheck endoscopy showed it had disappeared.
