Hi all,

I am 33 and had a loose 360 wrap and small hernia repair done 5 days a go by an experienced surgeon

I am having some weird symptoms and now thinking maybe i shouldnt have had it done.

Shoulder pain which comes and goes
Bloated and uncormfatble stomach which comes and goes its like a bloating and tightness around the stomach
Only been to toilet once and it was bad diarrhea
Sometimes feel like something is twitching or spasming in my chest/stomach
Drinking liquid makes me burp a lot

Am i stuck like this or is this normal during recovery?

Been feeling a bit down and anxious and keep reading horror stories on the internet cry i am so skinny now and just want to feel normal

Thanks AmethystQueen its nice to read some positive stores but i have read through a lot of them and nobody mentions anything that i am experiencing.

It certainly isn't the easiest of roads. I would say the shoulder pain is a result of gas that is trapped and I deem that normal. At this point, I wouldn't read too much online, especially horror stories. The stress in of itself could hinder healing. You're still very early on in the process. Keep in mind your insides have been jostled and rearranged for lack of better terms and the body has to adjust. A lot of people with wraps can't burp anymore. Are you actually burping or is it more like a reflex as I have? I deem being bloated and tightness as normal. Wraps can be too tight, but it should loosen up some on its own.

I hope this is of some help. I'm doing my best to remember how I was doing.

I'm not on this board much anymore, but will try to diligently check since you're looking for answers. If it makes you feel any better, I gained most of my pre-wrap weight back, so you can and will eat and gain again. Much love, my friend.

the symptoms you describe are normal and to be expected. A good resource for info now will be your Dr. check with him/her before escalating into unnecessary panic. You are fine.

i cant get to see me surgeon for 2 weeks
I will try to relax and ride it out ;-)

What you are experiencing is totally normal. As soon as you are able, I would try and walk as much as possible. That's a good way to get rid of the trapped gas in your shoulder. You had major surgery and I'm not sure what you were told about recovery. You need to be patient, your recovery will be slow and you may experience some setbacks. As far as the bloating, you might try some anti-gas medications to make you more comfortable. I had the surgery and it can be very frustrating, but it does get better. I started to feel a lot better about 6-months post-surgery and felt like my "new" normal after a year. I had my NF about 2-1/2 years ago and it was the best decision I've ever made. Stop reading the horror stories, that's what you mostly read on the internet, not all the people that the surgery has changed their life for the better.
