I have a lot of health problems but I will start with this one. Several years ago, I woke in the middle of the night with chest pain. When I went to my doctor, she suggested GERD and put me on Prilosec. I was on it for awhile and didn't like the side effects so i quit. I learned to control my GERD mostly by just changing my diet. Mint, coffee and other foods cause it so I TRY to restrict them.
Lately I have been getting a sore throat and when I look in my throat, there is thick yellow mucus at the back of my throat. I read online that could be from GERD. I was re-reading what you should avoid if you have GERD and one of the things it said was fatty foods or fried foods.
I cook a lot of things in coconut oil and other oils because I am very thin and my dietitian wants me to add extra oil to try to gain wait.
Does anyone know if using these oils could be part of the problem?
Thanks for any help!
