Hi, I had these symptoms, especially when drinking coffee. What happens is, the acid makes the diaphragm muscle contract and this is why you can't breathe.
It is very important until you find out the cause of your symptoms to cut down on the things that give you reflux. The most common are: coffee, including energy drinks, try to replace then with black tea; citrus; vinegar; soft drinks; fat foods including deep fried food; garlic; onions; spicy food and salty food.
