when I got the nissen done on 08/17/16 I have had nothing but issues, I have POTS, blood pressure issues, pinching pain on wrap. Although I don't have classic symptoms of nissen...bloating, and burping issues. This surgery has been a nightmare, yes it has helped people and perhaps saved peoples lives but considering that the nissen is placed by the vagus nerve their can be numerous amounts of issues related to vagus nerve damage. This surgery should be outlawed and the lynx should be the alternative method preferred. Went to USC and they will take down the nissen...THANK GOD. im tentatively scheduled in march for surgery. However I do have another DR apt in San Diego with another doctor that has take down the wrapes. But regardless this wrap is coming down. I understand that my symptoms may not be relieved and by taking it down may actually make things worse but ill take my chances. I am confident in the doctors that I have chosen for the take down. The vagus nerve is perhaps the scariest part, it can be entrapped in the scare tissue and an experienced surgeon is the most important. I know people on here have contemplated this surgery and have inquired about it before, I will be posting my results on this forum to help other out.

Glad to hear you were able to find someone who can take down your wrap. Do you plan to get the Linx instead?

As you probably know the Linx is not without its problems. My surgeon won't do the Linx citing the difficulties with its parts becoming intertwined with skin tissue and other issues. Another surgeon I saw said he has a waiting list of patients asking to have the Linx taken out.

o no...its just coming straight down without any lynx, im done with this crap (excuse my language) I cant believe what's happening to me, im half the person I was after the nissen, I have so many issues going on with my vagus nerve. I realize that taking it down may not relieve anything but im taking my chances. I agree about the lynx not enough information and statistics

I saw a surgeon that did both the Nissen and the Lynx. We actually tried for the Lynx first but my mobility score (Swallow test) was too low. (Sorry if I mispelled that)

So not everyone can qualify for the lynx either. So double check that as well.

Good Luck. I know the problems with the Surgery are hard. I'm only 5 weeks out from mine, though for the most part, it has gone well. In researching my issues, I have read where the right surgeon can fix wraps done wrong.

You may want to seek other opinions. 1, 2, or even 5. Maybe you just need a better surgeon that can fix it. I was warned that the procedure is not really reversible. At least not without major risks. So your choice is a major one.

Thanks joswald...I agree with you totally very scary, im not going back to my original doctor...he has never taken down a nissen. So I wen to USC in CA and the doctor is willing to take it down. However I do have a second opinion at UC san diego..I herd the doctor is very good and has done multiple take downs. So well see, the bottom line is this garbage is coming down its like have a frankein stein stomach.
