Probably going to have this procedure done in the Charleston, South Carolina area. A GI doctor is going to be referred to me. I have read it is important to have a high skilled and experienced surgeon do this operation. Is it an option to travel a distance to a surgeon for this operation?

There should be a list of Excellent Highly Experienced Surgeons Who Preform Laparscopic Nissen Fundoplication and Hiatal Hernia repair surgery.

If you have had a surgeon who you feel was exceptional then please post. Please post your experiences after the procedure.

Great Thanks. A start. Who else has had a good experience of a surgeon doing
Laparscopic Nissen Fundoplication and Hiatal Hernia repair surgery.

I don't believe we are suppose to list Doctor recommendations by name on this forum.

We are not suppose to place our email address in our posts to avoid all kinds of spam stuff. It can get pretty bad as viewers are looking for that stuff. You can list your email address in your Members info section and ask MEMBERS to respond to you that way.

You can also Create a New Message topic that states Looking for a NF and HH surgeon in or near (name city/state) , asking to respond to your Members email address. This will avoid not wanted stuff from the sale of your email address to outsiders.

Hope this is helpful in explaining why there are no names and email addresses posted in our messages. I apologize for bringing this up. Usually a forum moderator catches this and comments.

To say that we can't provide recommendations or suggestions would be incredulous. The purpose of a forum is to help people and provide suggestions that including should be suggestions about doctors. What individuals do with that in is up to them. These suggestions could perhaps save lives, after my nissen i new things went bad...i am now stuck with vagus nerve damage. If i had suggestions about doctors or recommendations i would probably not be in this situation.

Thanks for your input. I agree with you. It is difficult to find out about the best doctors for the nissen.

It is not like I'm asking for the names of the bad surgeons. Please don't send me their names. I do not want to know.

If you had a lot of success with a particular doctor then brag him/her up.

Sorry don't see the problem.

I thought I would get many more names of the really good surgeons doing the nissen?

Again, who are the really great surgeons doing Laparscopic Nissen Fundoplication and Hiatal Hernia repair surgery.
