It is very common, you need to take it slow and just remember to chew everything to almost liquid form before you swallow.

Yes, my first Nissen I was in your position for a good solid month. Take it slow. Don't rush your recovery, your body will tell you when it is time to handle more.

I was on a strict liquid diet (cream of soups and nourishment shakes) from my surgeon for 6 weeks post-op.
Had a full Nissen 13 and a half years ago and no problems yet.

Peak swelling occurs at 10 to 14-days, just take it slow. Did your surgeon give you a diet to follow? I didn't eat "regular" food for quite some time. I stayed with liquid and soft foods for at least 6 weeks.
