Thought to see if this topic would have anyone with this Dx. If so, just curious about those who have had a bypass surgery (biliary Roux Y) for this ailment. I won't go into too much detail, but I have had 7 ERCP's since my gallbladder removal 4 years ago. Seems like the best results I have had are when I get 4 stents placed in my biliary duct and then have them removed 6 weeks later. It must stretch out the duct to allow things to flow well as I do have periods of symptom free existence from this. It seems that this duration is becoming shorter each time, which leads me to think that the effect of this over and over again is wearing off. Obviously I can't continue down this path much longer, and feeling terrible with this (pain/nausea/discomfort) doesn't offer the quality of life I want to face being only 54 years old and active. I live in MN where one of the premier SOD docs resides, Dr. Martin Freeman and the Univ. of MN so feel like I am in good hands. Seems like the only option left is this surgery which he is hesitant about at this time. Just wondering what other have to say about this who know this ailment. Thanks!
