Hello,
I am 9 months after Nissen (hiatal hernia) surgery. My Gerd is gone, yeah!. So far no regrets.
Over the 9 month period I struggled with chest pains, Anxiety, aching where the repair was done, tingling in my arms and migraines once in awhile. Also, light headed and fatigue seem to stick with me.
I can eat what I want, but certain foods still remind me that they are still the boss. Over eating makes my stomach ache where the surgery was performed. I still have a knot that is present daily. Does anyone who is 9 plus months still have a tender spot by the stitches?
I am working on my anxiety and tingling. I am sleeping better, but I need to get more rest at night. After the surgery, I slept only 4-5 hours a night for several months. Then went to 5-6 for several months. Sleep is still an issue, but is improving. I would like to hear from someone who, after 9 months, is still in the healing phase.
Mike
