3 antibiotic for 14 days for Helicobacter pyrol IN FIRST LINE, IS IT NORMAL ?

Hello,first of all, sorry for my english level ,i live in France, i was recently diagnosned with helicobacter pyroli ( Biopsy )

My GP prescribe me 3 antibiotic for 14 days !!

- Tinidazole : 500 mg : 1 pill at morning , 1 pill at night
- clarithromycine : 500 mg, 1 pill at morning , 1 pill at night
- amoxicilline 1g : 1 pill at morning , 1 pill at night
- Esoméprazole : 40 mg ; 1 pill at morning , 1 pill at night !

FOR 14 DAYS !!

I did some research on internet and i NEVER found someone who take 3 antibiotic IN FIRST LINE for helicobacter pyroli

I have tinnitus,i think clarithromycine would be very dangerous for this...

What do you think ? i think it will be very dangerous for me to take 3 antibiotic for 14 days !


They did not do any resistance tests !


Of course, i didn't start the treatment

Hello, happened to see your post. You must understand drs each have their own protocol on how they treat a patient. I have read some people only took one antibiotic & some take two. I suggest since you are questioning your dr you need to contact him about this. Cruising the internet asking strangers what you should or should not do is not a good idea at all, the same with looking up info on the net. If you don't trust your dr get a 2nd opinion. Untreated h-pyloria is not good. None of us here are drs so no one can advise you.

Be sure to get a good probiotic to take with the antibiotics, they are available over the counter.

As Susie said, you really need to see your doctor and ask him about the Clarithromycin and your tinnitus. There are other drug combos he can use if you have a potential for interaction, but he needs to determine the protocol. FYI, I did have the triple antibiotic treatment for my h pylori infection. And I second what Susie has told you about "research" on the internet, there is a lot of misinformation out there and you need to trust your doctor.
