Last year I came from Ukraine and my two native languages are Russian and Ukrainian.
I'm rookey and I've got the same problem like you have: GERD with Hiatus Hernia.
And I would like to propose all of us a recipe to reduce the volume of stomach acid and to prevent refluxe and regurgitation and irrigation of the mouth room and to heal the ulcers. You should do it every 10 days on an empty stomach and then make 10 days time out and again do the same while two months.

The whole period is two months.
You can do it some times a year depending of your conditions.
Make boiling water. Fill the big cup (350 ml about
) , let it cool down
(water should be warm but not very hot to prevent your esophagus off burning).
Drink this cup of water and track the time at 15 minutes.
While the time is ticking, take one potato with red peel and yellow core (average size), take off the peel, grate it by the small grater at the deep plate and cover it.
When 15 minutes pass by, eat this grated potato using
a tea spoon only by swallowing not by chewing. Don't drink
anything while eating and after eating. When you have eaten it,
track the time at one hour and then you can eat your breakfast.
Preparing breakfast.
You should mix flax-seed and oat flakes in equal parts,
grind it in the blender in a jar for dry products.
Then you can use it everyday in the morning time to prepare special meal
for covering surface of your stomach by this meal.
Take two table spoons of this dry mixed powder and
add 1.5 cups of cold water. Stir it until it will be boiling.
Take the meal off the stove and let it cool down.
When the meal be warm(not hot) add a tea spoon of honey made
of the Rapsflower blossom. Stir it properly and eat .
Don't drink anything while you are eating and after you have eaten untill
two hours will not pass.
