Hello,
I had the nissen fundoplication 7 weeks ago today.
I still have extreme pain in my left shoulder, I had this immediately after the operation but it disappeared after a couple of days. Around week 2 it came back again worse than ever and has stayed ever since. I find that I am okay on a morning and as the day goes on the pain in my neck and shoulder gets worse and worse.
I am taking anti imflammatories and ibrufen but nothing seems to make the pain any less.
It then gets so severe I struggle to turn my head or sit with my back against anything so i am unable to drive.
I went to see my surgeon and he said it was muscle spasms and that they would go away. That was 3 weeks ago.
I really dont know what I can do to make this stop?
I have been back at work since week 2, as much as i have a desk job its really difficult for me to work in so much pain.
Any advice would be appreciated?
Thanks Guys!

It could still be trapped gas from the surgery, the best remedy is walking. You can also try some anti-gas medication that contains Simethicone. Be careful with the anti-inflammatories and Advil, as they will rip up your stomach.

Thank you Sharon, I have purchased some tablets containing Simethicone and I can feel an improvement already
