Doctors handle prep for the impedance test differently, so you will be given specific instructions. Generally, long acting PPIs are stopped first, but you’re allowed Ranitidine to pick up acid reduction for a while. When that is stopped, antacids are allowed until just before the test.
It’s not the most pleasant test—but it’s not the worst thing either. It’s just 24 hours, and it’s a step toward learning what is going on and how to improve your quality of life. You’ll do fine!
