Hello
My husband had the stretta procedure May 17th 2019. Here we are 5 months later and he is now taking more PPI than he was before. He actually has doubled it. He now has burning but doesnt know if its heartburn/acid reflux/gerd because he has the burn right under rib cage on the left side. He also had a pain there but that finally went away. He has trouble breathing when he gets a flare up (flare up is what we are calling it) and he cant seem to catch his breath. It was worse but that seems to have gotten better but still not 100%. We saw a pulmonary Dr about
his breathing waiting for us to get a CT scan before finding out what is going on with his breathing. The Dr that did the stretta procedure did an endoscopy about
2 months after the procedure to see what was going on with his issues. He found he had gastritis but said that level of gastritis wouldn't cause his pain. And he stated the stretta procedure looked great. So he sent us to a gastric Dr, where he preformed a colonoscopy and said everything was fine. So the stretta dr wanted to do the stomach emptying test and everything came back normal. Bloodwork, tests, and all scans so far have come back normal. We are lost and not sure what is going on. We are hoping the CT scan of the chest will show some inflammation or something that wasnt seen before. The pulmonary Dr is looking for something out of the ordinary. He seemed to think maybe a 3rd opinion is in order. Gas and bloating have been constant the whole time.
We are in search of answers but nothing yet.
Has anyone had complications from the stretta?
