Thanks for replying. I cannot imagine having to go through this day in and day out for four years let alone a week! I've had the relux before when I was pregnant with my children. My ENT prescribed it to me because I would get it once or twice a week and he said that sleep apnea can contribute to acid reflux. So, took nexium and as I said no problem.
This daily irritation/pain is enough to make you crazy. I already suffer from a chronic disease/pain (although very happy to say it has been virtually pain free now for almost 2 months! ) so to have this on top of it will probably cause me to head for the nearest looney bin!
I'm 42, and overweight, I will be working on taking this weight off like a vengence to see if that brings relief as well. Up to now it has not been a problem but apparently this ol' body is saying HELP!!
I hope that whatever surgery you decide will be helpful to you. My brother in law had some type of surgery as well for gerd and does much better now. He has occasional flare ups but not like he used to.
