neck pain sorness on the neck muscle ???????

how long has this been going on?  if it has been a few weeks, see a dr and get scoped.  ask all of the questions that you have based upon your own experience, what you find in this forum, and what you find elsewhere on the internet.

my gerd isn't unusual (i am finding).  i have "postnasal drip", problems swallowing, constant burping, and problems swallowing.  sound at all familiar?

find a gi dr and get endoscopic upper gi.  this test was done on me with sedation, so i did't even know what they were doing.  the doc took some pictures of my esophagus, stomach, and upper colon.  he was able to diagnose, based upon what he had seen, lrs.  he prescribed prilosec.  there are many other drugs that are effective.  what is rxed i believe upon who the laqst drug salesman was.

hard to say if the rx is working.  from what i've picked up from other threads, it takes quite a long time for the rxs to have an effect.  my dr rxed the prilosec for 11 mos.  good thing i'm goal oriented!

actually i had two scopes done, one in the rio grande valley of texas, where my wife and i live during the winter (it almost never gets below 30 degrees and the average temp during the winter is between 70 and 80 degrees) and one in northen alabama, where we live in the summer(valley is over 100 degrees and n. al is where daughter, grandkids and great grands live).  the dr is tx said that there was some old damage but nothing new.  the dr in al said that there was no damage but that there was a hyetal (sp) hernia causing the problem.  accepting that i think most drs are shamen using mri and ct scans instead of rattles, i don't personally trust either diagnosis.

you asked what they said and i gave you a commentary.    sorry about that!  i hope that relating my experience helps you.  the "post nasal drip" is driving me MAD!  i just hope the prilosec does the job.
