yucky white foaming burps

Any idea what this crude is?  It only started after I started aciphex in 03 - and then only occasionally.  I didn't think much of it.  Then in 04 I switched to omeprazole and the white foam was more frequent.  05 - same story.  now I've quit the ppi, thinking the white foam would stop.  (I am also very naseous when it happens and food has NO appeal.)  I've been off the ppi for about a month (cold turkey - probably not the best idea) and I'm still suffering.  The only thing that seems to help is time - about two days!!!  Sometimes throwing up everything in my stomach gives me a little relief, but that can't be good to keep doing.

I stopped the omperazole because it seemed to have lost effectiveness and I'm already taking a TON of pills.

Any idea what this is and why it happens?  What causes it?  I need to be able to eat or my UC gets unbearable...

This typically happens in the middle of the night or right after I wake up.  Then I'm plagued with the crud for a day or so.  I thought that it might be mucous too.  After I throw up the foamy stuff, then there seems to be chunks of mucous mixed in with whatever else comes up.

I'm typically horribly naseous when it happens.  Eating or drinking is almost totally out of the question because I feel so awful.

I've thought about taking a sample in to the doctor.  The foamy stuff is actually kind of amazing.  It stays bubbly and white for a long time after I spit it out.  (Sorry, that's kind of gross.)

Forgot to add that with my sister the bile burps are worst when she is under stress.....
