Dry mouth

Hi. I'm usually on the Crohn's site but heartburn has often been a problem for me. What I find particularly alarming, though, is that in the last couple of weeks I've developed a really dry mouth -- like I don't have enough saliva. I'm on Nexium right now - 40g. Just wondering if members have a problem with persistent dry mouth with a burning acidic taste or maybe I should be looking for another cause. Thanks.

I dont' have the dry mouth, but I do get the burning acidic taste often.

I can't tolerate the PPIs, so I take prescription Zantac. The pharmacist told me that could dry me out, so perhaps the PPIs can do the same thing?

I've only been on the prescription Zantac for a couple of days so I haven't noticed a dry mouth, though I have noticed my nose is dry.

I also have dry mouth but I thought it was from my breathing problems with asthma and allergies. Sometimes it is very bad. Drinking water is supposed to be good for you so that's what I do. Maybe this is a GERD symptom too. I have a chemical taste in mouth also. Frankly I am not sure what's what anymore. Taking water is usually beneficial though you're not supposed to drink a lot of liquids before sleeping surely you can quench your thrist.
