New and confused and scared..please respond

I have been told by dr that i probably have gerd..i have researched and couldn't find all of my symptoms.  I am afraid something else could be wrong.  I hurt sometimes when I swallow I can't tell if it's inside or outside of esophogus.  Just hurt chest wall or something.  Also sometimes feeling of broken glass in stomache.  But mine in on right side just below/under sternum on right side.  Have had gallbladder tested and it came back ok.  I can sometimes feel it even when I move.  If I press on the area I can feel it in my back.  My other symptoms are burping..i've never been a burper before..acid in back of throat sometimes..I'm confused.  I'm always in pain in my shoulders and back.  Could be my job.  I am an airport screener and handle a lot of heavy luggage and I only weigh 118 lbs. I can feel my stomach churning and can still feel my esophogus when I swallow like something in there. Please help..any info would be a blessing..very anxious and scared it could be something awful..

I know what you are going through and you are not alone. I have been dealing with swallowing issues for around a year and have finally taken the step to see a GI doc this coming Monday. The only way they can determine what is wrong is for you to get an endoscopy that way they can see the inside of your esophagus and stomach. My doctor is probably going to be scheduling one for me and I know what the fear you are feeling the Fear of the Unknown.

If you are on PPI's they take a while to kick in. But to put your mind at ease go to a GI doc so that they can perform the proper tests to give you a correct diagnosis.
