Nexium problems

Hi tummytuck I am sorry i have nothing to share with you because I am on nexium and I do not have any side effects.. But I do get nausea from my crohns and foind something natural to use for it they are called queasy drops or queasy pops.. You can get them at amazon, ebay and three lollies makes them.. Them are pretty yummy too.

Try using DGL (only the chewable kind) in place on Nexium, even at night and don't drink anything after taking it. I was taking 3 tablets (dissolve in mouth with saliva) and it worked for me in one month. I've read on many sites that DGL licorice works like Zantac. Who knows if it may work for you? Try it, you will get off drugs completely.

I think i,ll stick with what the doctor gave me , it does help , i havent had any symptoms like you describe only nausea but that was a long time ago. I also tried zantac before the nexium and didnt make a difference. Hope fully i should be off the Nexium within the year if the flagyl i was just taking for sinus hasnt screwed everything up for me . The anit biotic should be taken off prescription its lethal esp to us gastric sufferers.

I think saying that magnesium can destroy your intestines is ridiculous!!

Magnesium is a necessary mineral, as a matter of fact if you take calcium supplements for your bone health (I take only calcium citrate since it's non constipating - most other calciums are very constipating) the good ones will include some magnesium since it helps your body absorb the calcium more efficiently.

I think if you have certain very precise allergies, you have to watch just about everything you eat and certainly any supplements.

All I know is that some of you are getting some or good relief from GERD symptoms because of the DGL supplement.

I know that I CURED MYSELF OF GERD IN A MONTH.  Of course, I only had GERD symptoms for about 1 1/2 months and I think that since it took me one month to get over the symptoms it might take many of you much longer.  It all depends on the individual.

RandyDandy, I'm thrilled for you that you are on your way to good health.  I'm glad that I kept posting.  All I know is that the DGL helped me so it's definitely something one should try.  This is like an experiment, I have people I know on the DGL now and they are NO LONGER TAKING DRUGS.  One person was on Nexium for 10 YEARS, he is managing well without it now with the DGL.

This, of course, doesn't mean that you should just go out and eat anything you want.  I am still careful about what I eat but then I always was and that was the reason why I couldn't figure out how I got GERD.  I did come to the conclusion that I got GERD because of the ADVIL I was taking (especially at night) for an accident I had in my home and resulting pain.

I don't know where you live but the only country that I know of where vitamins and supplements are studied and regulated is Germany. I have learned alot over the years about vitamins and there is no question that you are correct, in large doses anything is bad for you. There are alot of people out there who just take anything and have no idea what it's doing to them. Especially dangerous if you are taking prescription drugs. But then something innocent like grapefruit or grapefruit juice can interect with certain drugs. Soooooo, you have to be very careful and ask alot of questions, doctors are ok but I find pharmacists are much better. Of course, when it comes to supplements you are in a bind since no can really give you much advice. If you want it, you have to pay dearly out of your own pocket (no insurance covers it). I would say that the people that run health food stores are usually pretty good. I have learned alot by reading.

As I said many times on this site, I was cured of GERD by the DGL licorice. After being on prilosec for one month and then getting the same symptoms again, I knew I had to do something myself. All my doctors were telling me was to go on other drugs. I learned alot from the internet and after reading all the suffering on this site, I know I had to do something myself.

Of course, diet is key!!!! I was on an alkaline (100%) diet. Not really a diet, but a new way of eating for me. It was totally vegetarian with just tofu and some grains as protein. I felt I was getting enough nutrients (along with my vitamin supplements that I've taken forever) the whole time I was on it.
I did start adding white chicken meat and some fish after a while but I totally eliminated wheat products and sugar.
I really don't have any addictions - that's a fact - since I was able to give up everything all at once. I know it's very hard for alot of people to do this but all you have to give up are certain foods. That's why I've posted before, a food diary is very important. You won't remember from one week to the next what you ate and what food triggered even worse symptoms.

I'm just posting my own thoughts on this site, I'm not telling anyone they HAVE TO DO WHAT I DID. I'm just giving suggestions on how to get over GERD and the way I DID IT. It's useless to keep posting how lousy you feel, I already understand (having gone thru it) how horrible it is. DO SOMETHING about IT, don't just go from one drug to another. That is not the answer with this problem.

I also posted many articles that I found on the internet and the most important one was when I read that Dr. Weil (a medical doctor here in the US) endorsed DGL licorice. That's when I started taking it, even 3 at a time. I did it for one month, maybe other people need to use it for longer BUT you have to be consistent. I did not stop until I felt better, then I tapered off and have been off for quite a while now.

The problem that one has is whether to stay on a drug (that of course a doctor prescribed) or try to get off the drug. I would think that everyone has to make that decision for themselves. I'm only posting things I've learned and things I hear from people that I know. We, unfortunately, are conditioned to listed to the medical profession and just follow blindly like lambs!
Everyone that wants to go off a drug should talk it over with their doctor. All I can say is that I'm giving advice to my doctors now since they never even heard of all the things I took to help with my GERD!
I tried just about everything there is on the market, but the only thing that I felt was helping me was the DGL and I stuck with that and happily I'm cured.

DANIE, I too like to reflect on the positive and let people know there is light at the end of the tunnel , fantastic news you found something that helped like you i tried loads but nexium was what helped me along with self help, i believe i,m there and it feels great !! I live in England and the doctors are more educated than they were about gastric and IBS, by being through what i have i self helped about 90% of my treatment through sites and internet like this. I have never dieted just cut out trigger foods, i did the food diary too. Alot of medicine is trial and error what suits someone does not suit others. I think if i was at an earlier stage than i am now i would probably find out more about the liquorish , but i am glad to say i,m 99% cured. i guess it acts the same when they tell u too eat that or ginger when u have heartburn when pregnant. Thankfully the nexium worked for me and stopped me from going for the operation to fix it. I was starting to lose my voice. ( some would say thats a good thing lol ) But i wish you all the best , if we can get our stories out of how we got cured and in different ways is great for anyone reading and hopefully will help others see beyond pills !! Pills alone DONT work.
