Hello, it's me again

Still having problems after all these months. I had a 24 pH test done finally at the order of my ENT (my GI seemed annoyed at that), which basically proved i don't have a faulty LES because the acid only seemed to surge when i belched, I just belch a LOT.

So if it's not the LES then the most obvious problem is of course an overproduction of acid. What I want to know is, what causes this? I mean I know the foods we eat and all that junk, but I mean, 2 years ago I was fine, then I started having minor voice problems due to this so they put me on nexium. Then everything exploded months later, I now get heartburn like I've never experienced and that started ON NEXIUM'S WATCH.

So I've been switched from PPI to PPI with no improvement. Now on prilosec OTC twice a day, which doesn't really help, I was just as bad for the week off of it for the pH test as I am on the stuff. I wake up in the morning with heartburn, have to take a bunch of gaviscon then spend the next hour belching like there's no tomorrow.

I've long suspected that my prescription mood stabilizer Lamictal might be the cause, because at some point i wasn't overproducing acid, then at some point I was, plain and simple, and i started noticing the voice problems shortly after hitting a "maintenance dosage", and the worst of my problems started when I was on my highest dosage yet at the time. But I've been slowly ramping it down (against my psychiatrists advice mind you, but it never really helped in the first place) and I'm seeing no improvement.

Maybe the damage is done to my proton pumps? Or maybe I need to COMPLETELY detox before I'll ever see any improvement? Maybe it's not even related? But what the heck actually causes those darn little pumps to go into overdrive in the first pace? My doc said that the endoscopy/biopsy he did in April of last year showed no H. Pylori, but that was before the real heartburn started, I only had the voice problems at that point.

I'm at the end of my rope, can anyone give me some insight into just how this all works??
